[Satellite TODAY 03-22-10] Intelsat signed an agreement with Turkish operator Turksat to provide enhanced satellite capacity serving the Middle East region, Intelsat announced March 19.
    The agreement provides Turksat with satellite capacity on the Intelsat system while Turksat finalizes details of its new satellite. In addition, Intelsat will have the option to participate with Turksat in its plans for continued growth in the region.
    “Global partnering is an important aspect of our growth program, and Turksat is an attractive partner with a heritage of serving its country and the region for nearly 20 years,” Intelsat Executive Vice President of Business Development Phillip Spector said in a statement.
