[Satellite TODAY 01-20-10] Antenna Technology Communications Inc. (ATCi) has signed a partnership agreement with Solana HK to jointly offer broadband satellite and fiber services to underserved markets throughout Asia, Africa and the Middle East, ATCi announced Jan. 19.
    Beginning March 31, ATCi’s proprietary technology will be integrated with Solana HK’s facilities. The new service will provide voice, data and video IP services to government and commercial customers throughout the region.
    ATCi also will implement DVB-S2 ACM IP-broadcast signaling and a packaged solution coupled with interlaced RF to digital IP optimizer technology to enable GSM operators to reduce their backhaul bandwidth requirements through proven network optimization and voice compression methods. The solution is designed to allow for bandwidth optimization techniques to eliminate unnecessary data.
    “We believe that the Asia region has the most dynamic growth opportunity for voice, video and data gateway applications,” ATCi CEO Gary Hatch said in a statement.
