[Satellite TODAY 01-19-10] HaiVision has released its Makito video encoder equipped with a DVI input, the video technology developer announced Jan. 18.
The new encoder aims to deliver low-latency, full-frame-rate H.264 encoding of high-definition video up to 1080p or computer graphics resolutions up to 1280×1024 resolution. Makito supports component analog, DVI and XGA inputs.
The model upgrade aims to augment HaiVision’s Makito-SDI, released in 2009, by supporting high-definition 3G-SDI and HD-SDI as well as standard-definition SDI, composite and S-video.
“Its small size, broad I/O support, and ability to operate as a stand-alone appliance or part of a high-density encoding system make the Makito a powerful solution for a wide range of markets and users,” Peter Maag, senior vice president at HaiVision, said in a statement.
