[Satellite TODAY 01-15-10] ITV Studios, a division of U.K. broadcaster ITV, has signed a partnership deal with Chinese TV and satellite company Hunan Television to develop and license content for original broadcast on Hunan Satellite Television in 2010, ITV announced Jan. 13.
    Hunan aims to leverage the new content in its efforts to extend its broadcasting reach to more than 58 million viewers in China and abroad. ITV Studios will represent the worldwide rights outside China for the finished and format versions.
    “I believe that the collaboration will bring Hunan TV’s entry into the international market one step closer,” Ouyang Changlin, president of Hunan Television, said in a statement.
