[Satellite TODAY 12-11-09] Vizada has teamed up with Singaporean broadcaster MediaCorp to enable reporters to perform live broadcasting from remote areas, the company announced Dec. 10.
Vizada will supply MediaCorp with portable Inmarsat BGAN mobile satellite terminal, replacing the broadcaster’s fixed satellite system. To support the service, Vizasa will build a data communications channel between its point of presence in Hong Kong and MediaCorp’s headquarters in Singapore.
“We gave the terminal to one of our reporters to film live from a remote area in Java and the results were very satisfactory. Vizada’s dedicated network provides a stable connection and reliable, high-quality broadcast footage. This was not the case before,” Ernest Loh Meng Fatt, assistant technical operations manager for MediaCorp, said in a statement.
