[Satellite TODAY 12-08-09] The Dec. 7 story, “Boeing ships DirecTV 12 to Baikonur,” should have read — Boeing has shipped the DirecTV 12 to the Baikonur Cosmodrome launch facility in Kazakhstan in preparation for its launch next year, Boeing announced.
    The Boeing 702 model satellite is scheduled for launch by International Launch Services Dec. 29. DirecTV 12 is expected to be operational three to six months after liftoff and is intended to increase the broadcaster’s national HD channel capacity to 200.
