[Satellite TODAY 12-03-09] GlobeCast has signed an international programming deal with Verizon, GlobeCast announced Dec. 2.
    Verizon will launch three new three new channels from Globecast’s World TV package of channels to its FiOS subscriber base in the United States.
    These three channels feature Korean, Mandarin and Greek programming. With these new channels, FiOS TV subscribers now have access to 35 international channels covering 21 languages.
    The three new channels come from World TV, a division of content management and delivery company GlobeCast, which signed a distribution deal with Verizon in 2008 for international programming, including Russian channel RTR Planeta, Romanian channels Pro TV and RSC1, Portuguese channel RTPi and more.
