[Satellite TODAY 11-10-09] International Datacasting Corp. (IDC) has entered into a non-binding agreement to acquire select product lines and related technology from Logic Innovations, a digital audio, video and data communications technology developer in San Diego, IDC announced Nov. 9.
    IDC will seek to acquire transport stream multiplexing, IP multicasting and unicasting, ATSC, DVB, and MPEG technology as well as broadcast record and playback products for the terrestrial, satellite and cable broadcast markets from Logic for a maximum price of $750,000. IDC also will absorb Logic personnel associated with the product lines.
    IDC said the move aims to strengthen their product portfolio and to build off of its $2 million acquisition of select Tiernan broadcast technology product lines from Comtech Telecommunication Corp. in August.
The transaction with Logic is expected to close on or before Nov. 30.
