[Satellite TODAY 11-06-09] The DirecTV Group reported a 94 percent increase in its free cash flow to $643 Million in its 2009 third quarter results, released Nov. 5.
    DirecTV’s total revenue, which includes DirecTV Latin Amerca, grew 10 percent to $5.47 billion in the quarter compared to 2008. In the United States, revenues increased 9 percent to $4.7 billion due to solid subscriber and ARPU growth. On its own, DirecTV Latin America saw a 16 percent increase in its revenues to $761 million over last year’s results.
    DirecTV Latin America and DirecTV in the United States gained 162,000 and 136,000 net subscriber additions, respectively, in the third quarter due to the addition of AT&T as a marketing partner and increased demand for its HD and DVR services.
    The pay-TV company’s third quarter net income increased slightly to $366 million while diluted earnings per share increased 12 percent to $0.37 compared with the same period last year.
