[Satellite TODAY 09-24-09] International Datacasting Corp. (IDC) received an order from Media Broadcast in Germany for IDC’s SuperFlex DVB-S2 broadband satellite caching receiver, SFX4104 Pro Video with Datacast XD content management and distribution software for movie delivery, IDC announced Sept. 24.
    The SuperFlex receivers aim to provide real-time decoding of MPEG-2 and MPEG-4 HD video for live events and can be expanded by using 3-D decoding technology licensed by IDC from partner Sensio Technologies.
Media Broadcast will use the equipment to expand and roll out its digital cinema service in Europe. The value of the contract has not been disclosed.
