[Satellite Today 07-22-09] Qwest Communications has entered into agreement with DirecTV to sell its satellite TV service to DirecTV customers for another five years
The companies said the service extension would provide new voice, video and data services to customers over the next few years in order to lower churn and compete against cable rivals. Qwest said it will roll out with a faster data service, through a DirecTV bundle, featuring a download rate of 40 megabits per second and an upload rate of 20 mbps for $109.99 a month.
Financial details of the contract extension were not disclosed. Qwest said it expects its capital expenditures to be $1.8 billion or lower this year.
