[Satellite Today 06-18-09] SES Americom-New Skies closed a multi-year deal with TAS (Teleport Access Services Inc.) to provide three transponders on the NSS-11 satellite to distribute up to 50 Chinese television channels to cable households in Taiwan, the satellite operator announced June 17.
    TAS uplinks to four different satellites to distribute 115 channels in Taiwan.
    “The NSS-11 satellite provides optimal coverage of our target market in Taiwan, allowing for reliable, high-performance cable feeds to some 7 million Taiwanese cable TV households. We look forward to a fruitful collaboration with SES Americom-New Skies,” Yu-Chun Kuo, president of TAS, said in a statement.
