[Satellite Today 06-05-09] KOAM-TV, a CBS broadcasting affiliate in Pittsburg, has selected Harris Corp.’s NewsForce digital news production system for live telecasts, Harris announced June 4.
    The Harris solution at KOAM-TV combines two Nexio AMP platforms and a variety of high-resolution field editors. KOAM-TV is also using three Nexio Media Gateway servers to facilitate high-speed file transfer of news content from third-party catch servers. 
    “The time savings is very apparent, as we can immediately begin to edit the feed as it is being ingested.  Since going live with Harris, we are able to produce more content for newscasts, employees are able to use their time more efficiently, and our newscast is visibly tighter and more polished,” Bret Falcetto, news operations manager for KOAM-TV, said in a statement.
