[Satellite Today 05-04-09] Giga-Com, a supplier of satellite and terrestrial microwave systems to the media and broadcast industries, has fulfilled a contract for the manufacture, integration and supply of 20 MLV digital portable microwave link systems to the Ministry of Information (MOI) of Kuwait, Giga-Com announced April 30.
   The systems, which feature a 4-channel re-multiplexing facility and a physical structure to withstand harsh weather conditions, will be used as the backbone for coverage of the Kuwait elections in May.
    “Our new range of MLV series microwave links has been well received by a number of customers in the Middle East region, and we are confident the MOI will be highly successful with these new systems,” Chris Lay, managing director of Giga-Com, said in a statement.
