[Satellite Today 04-30-09] NDS signed a contract with DoxTV, a value-added service provider in China, to bring digital TV services and Video-on-Demand to the country and provide an end-to-end suite of technologies to protect and enhance DoxTV’s business, NDS announced April 28.
DoxTV will use NDS’ VideoGuard conditional access, MediaHighware middleware, as well as NDS XTV digital video recorder technology with push Video-on-Demand (VoD) capability.
DoxTV said it also worked with NDS to co-design an interactive electronic programming guide and aims to empower digital pay-TV providers to give viewers more freedom in choosing content.
According to NDS, the deal marks the first introduction of DVR and push VoD functionality in China.
