[Satellite Today 04-24-09] SES Americom-New Skies has signed a new capacity deal with DRS Technologies, renewing an agreement for 160 megahertz of satellite capacity and connectivity to support the DRS Technologies Global Communications Network (GCN), SES announced April 23.
    As part of the agreement, DRS Technologies will utilize C-band and Ku-band capacity on fourteen beams across four SES Americom-New Skies satellites, NSS-9, NSS-6, NSS-7, NSS-703, as well as uplink services at strategic global teleports and access points to meet the proprietary voice, video and data communications needs of civilian and government agencies and military forces worldwide. DRS Technologies is also using SES Americom-New Skies satellites to support telemedicine and rural learning programs.
