Fisher Communications signed a station group agreement with Backchannelmedia to deploy its opt-in Clickable TV technology for interactive advertisements on television, Fisher announced April 20.
    The interactive technology works through over-the-air digital broadcast, cable, satellite and other providers to create an all-inclusive digital platform.
    The companies said the system was designed with consumer privacy in mind and is free from behavioral targeting.
    “We see Backchannelmedia’s Clickable TV technology as a game changer for our television stations and advertisers.  The reach of television will continue delivering information about products and services to a wide audience and build brands, but now goes a step further and delivers a customer to our advertisers,” said Rob Dunlop, senior vice president of operations for Fisher, in a statement.
