[Satellite Today 03-30-09] SATELLITE 2009 RECAP: RaySat Broadcasting Corp. (RBC) has revealed the provider partners involved in its alliance to deliver the AT&T CruiseCast service.
In a March 26 announcement, RBC named Intelsat as a provider of the space segment and teleport services, and ST Electronics as provider of the circuitry enabling line-of-sight blockage protection. Hyundai Digital Technology will manufacture the in-vehicle receiver; NDS will provider of conditional access systems, middleware and integration services, Harmonic will supply encoders, Synchronoss subscriber account management, and RaySat will provide the service’s Ku-band, phased-array satellite antennas.
AT&T CruiseCast will provide 42 channels of satellite TV and radio to the rear seat entertainment system of an automobile.
RBC said it is now working with the business development group at AT&T to introduce the new product to the marketplace.
