[Satellite Today 12-03-08] Globecomm Systems completed a media processing center in New Delhi, India, providing program origination for Bharti Airtel‘s new DTH service, Globecomm announced Dec. 2.
    The program acquisition and uplink center, which Globecomm began developing in March 2007, features two 11.3-meter Ku-band antennas, Globecomm’s AxxSys Orion monitor and control system, and 15 4.5-meter receive-only antennas for program acquisition.
    The service provided by the center initially will be marketed through 21,000 retail outlets in 62 cities and includes interactive applications for booking cinema tickets and travel packages, online shopping, news and games.
