[Satellite Today 11-24-08] Polish DTH operator Cyfrowy Polsat has deployed an advanced high-definition set-top box, EchoStar Europe announced Oct. 24.
    The launch of the DBS-7100HD product is intended to boost Polsat’s DTH offer in Poland. The set-top box designed to provide consumers with reception of HD digital television services. The unit is equipped with a single-chip silicon solution and aims to have the connectivity required to be placed at the focal point of a consumer’s digital entertainment center.
    “We are delighted that Cyfrowy Polsat selected EchoStar Europe to supply high definition set-top boxes to meet the increased consumer demand for its HDTV service,” Rick Smith, vice president sales and marketing, EMEA, EchoStar Europe, said in a statement.
