[Satellite Today 11-11-08] Dish Network Corp. reported a $108 million decline in net income and a loss of approximately 10,000 net subscribers in its 2008 third quarter financial report released Nov. 10.
    The company attributed the $108 million decline in net earnings to impairments on marketable and non-marketable securities.
    Despite the losses, the company reported a 5.1 percent increase in total revenue at $2.94 billion up from $2.79 billion for the corresponding period in 2007. Basic earnings per share were $0.20 for the quarter compared with basic earnings per share of $0.45 during the corresponding period in 2007.
