[Satellite Today 10-06-08] The Public Broadcasting Service (PBS), which serves 356 public television stations in the United States, has transitioned its complete programming lineup to the AMC-21 satellite, SES Americom announced Oct. 6.
AMC-21, placed in orbit in August, also is a key element of PBS’s Next Generation Interconnection System, the distribution infrastructure platform for public television.
In addition, SES announced that the AMC-21 spacecraft is enabling the delivery of mobile broadband services, including distribution to the oil and gas industry, the U.S. government, as well as maritime broadband users across the Gulf of Mexico and the Caribbean.
