[Satellite Today 09-12-08] Telesat Holdings Inc. named Michel Cayouette as its CFO, the company announced Sept. 12. Cayouette will join Telesat on Sept. 17, succeeding longtime CFO Ted Ignacy, who will remain with Telesat until the end of October.
    “Ted has been with Telesat for 22 years and, over that period, has made immense contributions to the company’s development and progress. I’m grateful for Ted’s dedication and hard work and wish him much success in his next endeavors,” said Telesat CEO Dan Goldberg.
    Cayouette previously held the CFO role at Teleglobe Communications Corporation, Orbcomm Global, TIW Asia, and FLAG Telecom.
    Telesat awaits the launch of the Nimiq-4 satellite, scheduled on Sept. 19 after it was delayed by a launch failure in April 2008. International Launch Services will launch the satellite from Bakinour with two payloads for Canadian broadcasters. The main payload will provide specialty television and foreign language programming. The second payload has six beams covering Canada for such advanced services as high-definition television – 32 channels in Ku-band and 8 channels in Ka-band.
