[Satellite Today 08-26-08] AETN All Asia Networks (AAAN) launched the History Channel HD in Hong Kong and Singapore, the company announced Aug. 26. The channel will offer a separate schedule from the standard-definition service with programs in Chinese.
    The signal for the channel will originate from Chellomedia’s broadcast facility in Amsterdam and will offer a range of broadcast services including creation of the HD/SDI signal for hand-off and content language versioning.
    GlobeCast and Measat are providing services, including fiber delivery to Asia as well as encryption, uplink and capacity on the Measat-3 satellite platform. 
    The channel will launch Sept. 1 in Singapore on StarHub and in Hong Kong on Now TV before the end of the month.
