[Satellite Today 08-05-08] NDS has seen a strong increase in its overall revenues and operating profits for the year that closed June 30, the company announced Aug. 5.
    NDS, which supplies conditional access and middleware solutions to satellite pay-TV operators, reported revenues of more than $850 million, an increase of around 20 percent compared to the same period a year ago. Operating profit was $195.4 million, a 22 percent increase compared to last year.
    “NDS has completed another year with strong results on all our key metrics, subscriber growth, middleware and digital video recorder shipments and strong performance of our Orbis subsidiary,” Abe Peled, NDS CEO, said in a statement. “Our fiscal 2008 performance has benefited from continued strong execution and key new customer wins. Of particular note are our successful penetration of the German cable and satellite market and our wins in India and Malaysia.”
