[Satellite Today 07-29-07] CET Teleport has acquired a teleport in Germany, the company announced July 29.
CET acquired the interest of Stratos GmbH in the former Deutsche Telecom teleport located near Hameln. The facility was built by Deutsche Telekom in 1987 and has been used for broadcast satellite and VSAT services. The teleport has a view of the East Coast of Canada down to South America and also covers Europe and Africa across to Russia, China and all of Asia.
Under the terms of the deal, CET Teleport will continue to serve the Stratos customer networks currently running at the teleport.
“The two companies have worked hard to ensure that the transition is seamless and that there will be no impact on existing Stratos customers who will continue to enjoy the same high level, quality service that they have always received,” Ken Armstrong, CEO of CET Teleport, said in a statement.
