[Satellite Today – 4-29-08] iDirect Inc. has received a contract from ScopeTel Sdn. Bhd. to standardize service on iDirect’s platform, iDirect announced April 29.
    ScopeTel, headquartered in Malaysia, will consolidate its customer networks onto iDirect’s satellite communications platform in an effort to increase bandwidth efficiency and simplify network management. The operator will replace its single channel per carrier systems with a shared time division multiple access platform and integrate customer networks that span multiple topologies and vertical markets, including the maritime, oil and gas, enterprise, government, and education sectors.
    In addition, ScopeTel plans to leverage the iDirect platform to support virtual network operators throughout Southeast Asia that are seeking to establish private satellite networks in the region.
