[Satellite Today – 4-8-08] Arqiva will provide fiber connectivity and uplinking for the Rush high-definition (HD) channel for Voom HD Networks, Arqiva announced April 8. The channel was launched on BSkyB‘s digital satellite platform this week.
The signal for the channel is sent via fiber from Rainbow Network Communications Broadcasting & Technology Center in New York to Arqiva’s teleport facilities in Chalfont Grove, United Kingdom, where the feed is multiplexed and uplinked onto Arqiva’s Eurobird satellite capacity for broadcast on the Sky platform.
The launch of Rush HD on Sky marks the second Voom brand to see international distribution, and there are already plans for the channel’s further expansion throughout Europe.
