[11-13-07 – Satellite Today] Bentley Walker, a U.K.-based satellite solutions provider, purchased a second HX System network operations center, Hughes Networks Systems announced Nov. 12. Bentley Walker purchased the first Hughes system in July.

The HX System features a bandwidth management tool that provides operators the ability to allocate satellite bandwidth as a virtual pool. If a customer or group of terminals is not fully using its allocated bandwidth, the HX System reallocates this bandwidth.

This second deployment will operate from Bentley Walker’s Turin, Italy-based teleport over the Eutelsat Sesat 2 satellite.

"Bentley Walker’s order reflects its initial success in offering services over the HX and is indicative of the market’s overall acceptance of this powerful platform," Mike Darcy, president of Hughes Europe, said in a statement.
