[11-07-07 – Satellite Today] Premiere, the German pay-TV operator, saw strong subscriber growth in the three months to the end of September. This was one of the highlights of its third quarter results, announced Nov. 6. At the end of September, Premiere had just over 3.5 million direct subscribers, an increase of close to 60,000 subscribers in the quarter. The operator saw a slight increase in overall revenues, with revenues for the quarter coming in at 247.5 million euros ($359.22 million), an increase of around eight percent compared to the previous quarter. Michael Börnicke, CEO of Premiere, called the results “very satisfactory”.
Premiere also gave an update on its recently launched Premiere Star service, which offers 14 existing and new pay-TV channels in a package via satellite. The company already has 105,000 customers in the first month of service and the operator plans to have 200,000 Premiere Star customers by the end of the year.
