[8-30-07 – Satellite News Today] STMicroelectronics has integrated Cinea Inc.’s Running Marks’ session-based watermarking technology into set-top box decoders, Cinea announced Aug. 29.

The solution has been integrated into STMicroelectronics’STi7109 system-on-Chip high-definition TV decoder platform and is available to all set-top box vendors, conditional access vendors and cable, Telco and satellite system operators.

Session-based watermarking allows a company to mark compressed content anywhere in the content distribution path, identifying any illegally redistributed content and tracing it back to the source.
