Space Communications Ltd. has sold more than 50 percent of the total capacity on its Amos-3 satellite, which is slated for launch in the third quarter of 2007, the company announced.
Some existing and new customers on Amos-1 and Amos-2, including government users and direct-to-home platforms Yes of Israel and Romania’s Boom, will transition some of their capacity to Amos-3 once it becomes operational.
Amos-3 is scheduled to be launched in the fourth quarter of 2007 aboard a Land Launch vehicle and begin operations in first quarter of 2008 at Space Communication’s 4 degrees West orbital slot, providing broadcast and communications services to Europe, the Middle East and the East Coast of the United States.
