Uplit and Cox Communications renewed a two-year agreement to provide satellite uplink services for Cox Sports Television (CST), according to a Nov. 29 statement.

Since 2002, Uplit has transmitted CST to cable operators throughout the Gulf South. CST is the exclusive regional sports network of the NBA New Orleans Hornets, NFL New Orleans Saints, and the Louisiana State University (LSU) Tigers.

Cox’s metro fiber rings route the video signal from various sports venues to Uplit’s satellite teleport facility in Harahan, Louisiana. By uplinking the signal to Uplit’s satellite network, CST reaches approximately 1.5 million viewers within 350 miles of New Orleans.
