SatixFy Communications named David Ripstein, formerly of GreenRoad Technologies and Radcom to lead the company as CEO. Ripstein succeeds industry veteran Yoel Gat, former CEO and co-chairman, who died in April.
Ripstein has served as CEO of telematics company GreenRoad Technologies since 2017, where he directed the development of digital telematics products and a global sales approach. He was previously president and CEO of network intelligence solutions company Radcom, from 2007 to 2016. Radcom provides solutions for telecom operators transitioning to 5G, and Ripstein spearheaded the company’s product redirection and global sales strategies.
This appointment comes as Satixfy is going through a special purpose acquisition company (SPAC) merger to become publicly traded. Co-founder Yoav Leibovitch, who has been serving as interim CEO, highlighted Ripstein’s understanding of the communications vertical and experience running a publicly-traded company. Leibovitch will remain the company’s chairman and CFO.
Ripstein said that SatixFy will use the SPAC cash injection to launch an “aggressive sales strategy.”
“I am excited by the growth potential represented by SatixFy’s step-ahead satellite communications technology, which exactly matches the needs of a broad variety of satcom players,” Ripstein said. “With strong demand for wide, reliable bandwidth and global access, the world needs better performance out of satellite communications – including higher speeds, more advanced payloads and wider coverage – and this requires SatixFy’s unique technologies.
