[Satellite Today 07-24-08] Norsat International Inc. released the first product in its vehicle-mount satellite terminal family and signed contracts with the U.S. military and an Asian broadcasting network to provide terminals for the transmission of video data feeds, the company announced July 24.
The terminals initialize and optimize modem and transmitter settings and automatically align the antenna towards the desired satellite. They are available for use in 15 languages.
“With the launch of this new terminal, we have extended our reach into a new industry segment,” Aimee Chan, president and CEO of Norsat, said in a statement. “Winning these inaugural orders serves as a testament to our technology leadership in designing and developing ground-based satellite systems and demonstrates our ability to quickly gain a foothold in the global vehicle-mount satellite terminal market.”
