[Satellite Today 10-03-08] Space Exploration Technologies (SpaceX) has standardized on NX and Teamcenter software from Siemens PLM for product design, simulation and product data management, a Siemens announcement stated Oct. 2.
The NX software enables SpaceX to integrate all aspects of the design-through-manufacturing process and that it will allow knowledge-based engineering methods to enhance the ability to leverage information. The software's functionality also enables SpaceX to predict product performance in the design phase, crucial for the mission-critical space launch industry.
The Teamcenter software is for management of design data and specifications and aims to serve as the single source of product record and enhance efficiency and collaboration while reducing development costs.
